The 5 dysfunctions of an organisation

Patrick Lencioni touch us long time ago the 5 dysfunctions of a team. I guess that he referred as well that the same dysfunctions scale across the organisation. What we have found this time, is that the opposite should not apply as well.

Dysfunctional leadership in a unit will have an impact in the teams but can we say that these leaders are impacted by the organisation above them. Most people will say that's the case but in our humble opinion we don't share that view.

The main reason for our position is that these leaders, as leaders of a unit, should protect their people from interferences or cultures which are not appropriate in workplaces.

Even if these interferences and cultures are coming from the rest of the organisation, their responsibility is to create the right culture and environment for their teams and enable their teams to do the best work possible for their customers.

What happen when the leaders cannot get along between them? Well, the external culture is not an excuse to justify their silo approach. As leaders, they should deal with their differences as soon as possible because there problems at that level will cascade down to the rest of their teams faster and wider that they might even thought.
